COST
To begin with, we do not sell meat, we sell Beef Cattle.
Beef Cattle can be purchase by the Whole or Half and is priced at $3.50 lb hanging weight plus processing. Hanging weight is the weight of the carcass once the inedible portions have been removed (head, hide, hooves, entrails, etc). A beef with a live weight of 900 lbs would on average have a hanging weight of around 540 lbs. Given this example, the cost would be 540 x 3.50 = $1,890 plus processing. Keep in mind that live weights will vary from 800 to 1000 lbs. or so.
Processing is done by an outside local processor and the cost is currently .69 per lb hanging weight. Estimated total cost by live weight for a whole beef are as follows:
Cost does not include applicable NM Gross Receipts tax which will be added to final invoice.
To simplify the process, we will pay the processor for your processing so you can make one payment and simply pick up your order when it is ready.
A $300 deposit is due at time of ordering for a full beef and a $200 deposit for a half beef.
Once a hanging weight is obtained, you will be sent a final invoice and provided an estimated pickup date.
